Commercial Fire Risk Assessments in Luton
A fire risk assessment considers fire hazards, people who may be at risk and whether the precautions at the premises are suitable. The scope depends on the building, occupancy and activities taking place. Our assessments are intended to give clients a useful action plan rather than simply another document to file away.
We work with offices, shops, warehouses, hospitality premises, schools, care settings, HMOs and property portfolios in and around Luton. Coverage also includes Dunstable, Houghton Regis, Harpenden and surrounding Bedfordshire areas.
What Does a Fire Risk Assessment Consider?
- Potential ignition and fuel sources
- People who may be especially at risk
- Means of escape and escape-route management
- Fire detection and alarm arrangements
- Emergency lighting
- Fire doors and compartmentation observations
- Fire extinguishers and other firefighting equipment
- Fire safety signage
- Staff information, training and evacuation arrangements
- Testing, maintenance and record keeping
For more background, read what a fire risk assessment is, who needs a fire risk assessment and how often an assessment should be reviewed.
Fire Safety Responsibilities
For many non-domestic premises, the Responsible Person has duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. A suitable fire risk assessment should reflect the actual premises and should be reviewed when relevant changes occur. See the GOV.UK fire risk assessment guidance for official information.
Fire Safety Services Following an Assessment
Where an assessment identifies work requiring attention, AK Fire Safety can also support clients with fire alarm maintenance, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers and fire door services.
