What Is Fire Alarm Monitoring?
Fire alarm monitoring links a compatible fire alarm system to a remote alarm receiving centre. When the configured fire signal is transmitted, operators follow the agreed response procedure for your premises.
This is especially valuable when a building is unoccupied overnight, at weekends or during holidays, because the alarm is not relying solely on somebody being on site to hear the sounders.

How Fire Alarm Monitoring Works
A signalling device is connected to the fire alarm system and configured to transmit selected events to the ARC. Depending on the site and equipment, signalling may use IP, mobile networks or resilient multi-path communications.
When an alarm signal reaches the ARC, the agreed response plan is followed. That may include contacting nominated keyholders, facilities teams or other defined contacts.
Important: Fire Service Attendance
A monitored fire alarm does not mean the fire and rescue service will automatically attend every activation.
The ARC follows the response plan agreed for the premises, while fire-service attendance and call-challenge policies can vary by local authority and incident circumstances. Your monitoring arrangement should be set up around the premises risk, fire strategy and current local requirements.

1. Review the Existing System
We assess the fire alarm panel, signalling requirements, site use and the response you need when the building is unattended.
2. Install the Signalling Device
Where suitable, we connect compatible signalling equipment to the existing fire alarm without replacing the whole system.
3. Configure the Response Plan
Keyholders, contacts and escalation instructions are agreed so the ARC knows how to respond to configured signals.
4. Test & Handover
The monitoring connection is tested, relevant contacts are confirmed and the arrangement is handed over for ongoing use.
