Commercial Fire Risk Assessments in Leicester
A fire risk assessment considers how a fire could start, who could be affected and whether the precautions at the premises are appropriate. The assessment should reflect the building, its occupants and the activities taking place rather than relying on generic paperwork.
We support offices, shops, warehouses, hospitality premises, schools, care settings, HMOs and property portfolios in and around Leicester. Coverage also includes Oadby, Wigston, Braunstone and surrounding Leicestershire areas.
What We Consider During an Assessment
- Fire hazards and potential ignition sources
- People who may be especially at risk
- Means of escape and escape-route management
- Fire alarm and detection arrangements
- Emergency lighting
- Fire doors and compartmentation observations
- Fire extinguishers and firefighting equipment
- Fire safety signage
- Staff training and evacuation arrangements
- Testing, maintenance and record keeping
Useful guides include what a fire risk assessment is, who needs one, fire risk assessment costs and when an assessment should be reviewed.
Fire Safety Responsibilities in Leicester
For many non-domestic premises, the Responsible Person has duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. The assessment should be kept under review and updated where relevant changes affect the premises or its fire risks. Official information is available in the GOV.UK fire risk assessment guidance.
Support After Your Fire Risk Assessment
Where an assessment identifies deficiencies, AK Fire Safety can also support clients with fire alarm maintenance, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers and fire door services.
